About Us
Agri Venture Solutions was started in 2019. Its owner Chris Bell had been working with the previous owner, John Taff, of Southwest AgriSearch for about 15 years. Chris has worked test plots in several states (Colorado, Kansas, Nebraska, Oklahoma, Arkansas, Mississippi, Louisiana and Texas. Currently, AVS only operates in Texas. It begins in the Rio Grande Valley continues across the Gulf Coast, thru central part of the state and finally the panhandle. Grain corn and sorghum (milo) are the two primary crops that are tested. We have begun to grow into ensilage trials in the Texas panhandle where water is becoming a serious issue. Both corn and sorghum are part of the current program. The company continues to look for new avenues of growth in these changing times.
We take great pride in both customer service and our ability to provide quality data to our customers. A special thanks goes out to John Taff for exposing Chris to this little-known part of the development of future hybrids. John still maintains a roll in the company and is a vital part of its continued existence.

Ethanol isn’t the only form of energy derived from corn. Some batteries also contain corn derivatives found in the form of “bioelectricity.” In batteries, cornstarch is often used as an electrical conductor.
It even makes you smell better.
Cornstarch is a common ingredient in many cosmetic and hygiene items, including deodorants. Many natural homemade deodorants include this ingredient because of its absorbent nature; however many gel deodorants also contain a corn derivative in the form of denatured alcohol, also known as ethanol. Similarly, hand sanitizer also typically contains ethanol.
